Freiburg, January 14th, 2019. virtual minds AG is starting the new year with a new member of the Management Board. On January 1, Nils Röhrig joined the top management of the Freiburg-based technology holding company as Chief Product Officer (CPO). With the appointment of Nils Röhrig, who will be responsible for product strategy and business development in the media technology division across the group with immediate effect, the virtual minds group is underpinning its growth ambitions and its market positioning as a leading European adtech provider.

Nils Röhrig (53) has around 25 years of international product and marketing expertise in top positions at leading media companies and agencies. Born in Hanover, he began his professional career in 1994 in the TV sector in the sales department of Deutsches SportFernsehen (Kirch Group) and the MGM Media Group in Munich. In 1999, he moved to the online sector as Head of Online Marketing at the then ProSieben subsidiary LetsBuyIt.com, before joining GroupM (WPP Werbeholding) in 2006, where he initially took over responsibility for the entire digital business of Germany’s largest media agency as Managing Director of GroupM Interaction. In the following ten years, he played a key role in the development and expansion of the programmatic agency business, including as Managing Director of targ.ad/ Xaxis and as Head of and EMEA Director Online Trading. His last position at GroupM took him to China, where as CDO and CEO of GroupMConnect he successfully drove the expansion of the agency business in Asia’s largest digital market. Most recently, Nils Röhrig primarily advised tech companies on strategy and products with his own consulting firm glass digital consulting.
