Freiburg, 28 September 2021. The members of IAB Europe TCF (Transparency Consent Framework) Governance Board have elected as their Chairman Tom Peruzzi, CTO and Spokesman of the Management Board of Virtual Minds. Since its establishment in summer 2020, Peruzzi has been one of five digital and technology experts from the ranks of adtech service providers on the fifteen-member board.

The TCF Governance Board is responsible for the oversight of the TCF Managing Organisation (IAB Europe), TCF Steering Group and dispute resolution process, ensuring that processes and outputs align to the strategic objectives of the TCF on behalf of all stakeholders that implement the TCF. The standard, introduced in April 2018 and used in updated form (TCF 2.0) in August 2020, is intended to ensure the requesting and transmission of an informed user consent that is as simple, transparent and effective, i.e. legally secure, as possible in data collection and processing in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) between all participants in the digital advertising and media ecosystem.

The board has a total of 15 members, a third comprising representatives of the purchasing side (advertisers/agencies), a third coming from the tech service provider side and a third from the selling side (publisher/marketer). The term of office of the delegates is two years and can be extended twice.

Tom Peruzzi has been CTO of the technology holding company Virtual Minds since October 2017. As such, he is responsible throughout the group for the further expansion and further integration of the modular full-tech stack and the technology teams of the subsidiaries Adition Technologies, The Adex und Yieldlab. The prominent ad tech specialist Tom Peruzzi was responsible in consultancy and (interim) management positions for the establishment and expansion as well as management of technological platforms and solutions at companies including Gruner + Jahr, Hubert Burda Media, Axel Springer, Holtzbrinck Publishing Group, Publigroupe, Laterpay and Styria Media Group. At Virtual Minds, he is concerned with the further development of the platform portfolio and focuses in particular on identifying further key technologies for the technology setup and integrations of other target firms.

“The IAB Transparency and Consent Framework is a vital component for the sustained advancement of data-based marketing,” explains Tom Peruzzi. “The TCF forms the compliance framework for a reliable technical standard infrastructure for the requesting and transmission of user consent between publishers, advertisers and their technology partners. I’m delighted to participate in this European project for the German digital sector and the adtech industry and be able to contribute to ensuring that efficient data protection, strong media marketing, effective marketing communication and not least also a high-quality digital advertising experience for the user are harmonised with one another in the best possible way.”
